Online Chemistry Lab

Have you ever gone to a Starbucks and talked to some employee who is taking their break and reading stacks of manuals in the lobby? In my travels I have seen this on many numerous occasions. It appears that Starbucks employees are required to read all sorts of manuals and learn all about all the products and services that they offer.

I was joking around with one of their employees the other day and I mentioned that they deserved a degree for all that they were working on and studying at Starbucks. They laughed and mentioned to me that Starbucks study was harder than in college. So what might we call this degree in Barjista-ism? Why not call it a BJ? Why you ask?

Well because you can get a BA in college, but alas who wants to do all that studying just to look at someone's BA? You can also get a BS in college but who wants to study that hard just to learn BS, you can go help out at a cattle ranch if that is all you want to smell after college. At Starbucks they should give you a BJ for studying all those manuals.

Starbucks employee should also get credit for the lab, because dealing with all those customers and giving that great customer service is indeed hands-on training in the lab. Think of all the customers both nice and hard to deal with and what an incredible study it is in the social sciences of our civilization. I think it is time that we give Starbucks employees a degree of their own and I would like to see more of them put this on their résumé so us employers will know who to hire.
